Hand-painted porcelain titmouse from Bing & Grøndahl of Copenhagen, Denmark, catalogued as model 1633 and known as "The Optimist" for its raised tail. Soft blue crown and tail against a cream and white body, with finely detailed brown and black wing feathers and a glossy glaze throughout. Attributed to designer Jens Peter Dahl-Jensen.

Measurements: approx. 5.25 in long × 3.6 in tall × 2.25 in deep
Condition: Excellent. No chips or cracks. Light age toning to the unglazed foot ring and a small kiln fleck on the base, both normal for the period and not visible on display.
Marks: the green three-tower Copenhagen mark on the base, "B&G Kjøbenhavn Denmark," the blue B&G crown, model number 1633, and the painter's initials SV.
