What we came through

Monica & Gary still tell it —

The building was crowded, dark, and a little sad in those days, but we could see exactly what it might become. Getting there was another story. The roof leaked so badly we kept as many as sixty buckets out on rainy days — for three years — before it was truly fixed. We spent our nights after closing building booths, refinishing furniture, and dreaming up new corners of the store.

Then, in May 2020, while we were driving home from a picking trip up in Michigan with a trailer full of treasures, we got a frantic call from Jenny back at the shop: a pipe had burst and flooded nearly the whole place. Insurance didn't cover it. But our vendors and our boys showed up anyway — pulling out carpet, repairing pipes, saving everything that could be saved. Thirty days later we reopened our doors. Then came Covid, and we kept the faith and kept them open.

Somewhere in all of that, the shop became something new — and it needed a name to match. Same store, same vendors, same owners, a whole fresh life. Vintage Vibes on Main was born.
